John Edward Roughan was born March 1897 at St Georges,
Hanover Square, London. He was the youngest child of John Roughan and Frances
Sarah Passey.

He joined the 17th Lancers L/4462
and was serving in India when War broke out, very little is known about his
service other than he served in India, France and Ireland he was also transfered
to the Queens West Surrey Regiment 21990,

On leaving the Forces he joined the Prison Service at Feltham and Strangeways. John married three times having three sons and a daughter from his first marriage and two sons from his third marriage. He died in 1963 in Salford, leavimg my mother, brother and myself.
